Silver plated Maillechort, handmade, soldered tone holes, pointed arms, small
mainline key cups, open hole, no adjustment screws, inline G, Bb shake, tear
drop D#, pinned C-foot, blue steel springs, original pad retainers, felt pads,
some plating wear.
Claude Rive flutes are rare
finds, especially those in pristine, original condition like this exceptional
example. Rive made approximately 800 flutes before his workshop's legacy passed
to Alexander Robert. This flute represents a significant piece of musical

Rive #673 is in
turn-key condition, ready to play. The tone is rich, robust, and distinctly
French. It is an incredibly light flute and vibrates in the player’s hands,
enhancing the connection between instrument and musician. The meticulously
crafted, small embouchure hole is very responsive, reacting to the slightest
breath. Every nuance of the player’s intention is seamlessly translated into
the music. The flute comes in a period French case in good condition.
Maker’s marks are on both the
headjoint and the body, monogram and serial number are on all three joints.
