Powell Flute serial #7576,

Powell #7576 represents a
unique moment in flute-making history, created during a period when many
start-up boutique makers challenged the established duopoly of Powell and
Haynes. At this time, Japanese flute makers were also making significant
inroads into the US market. This Powell flute is particularly special as it was
entirely handmade, predating the company's shift towards CNC machining and
assembly line production.
Powell #7576 is in lovingly
used condition. The pads are older and are covering adequately for casual
playing. An overhaul is recommended for professional use. The mechanism is
tight and the keys move smoothly. The sound is not ultra modern, it still has
the charm and warmth of a vintage instrument, very easy to control. It comes in
its original case in fair condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only, monogram on headjoint and footjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.2 x 11.4 mm.
Sounding length is 632 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-7/8”.
The flute weighs 424 grams.
