Jack Goosman learned
flutemaking working at the Powell Company. Goosman set up his own business in
1971. In the early years he and his wife Mara made traditional and Cooper-style
head joints before they created their “butterfly” design in 1989.
Powell #3680 is in excellent
condition, the pads are sealing well, the mechanism is tight, no dent. It has
been well taken care of over the years. It is ready to play. The Goosman
headjoint compliments the flute, bringing a slightly more modern, Cooperized
sound to the Powell. The flute is in its original case in good condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only.
The embouchure hole measures 10.3 x 11.7 mm.
Sounding length is 638 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-7/8”.
The flute weighs 426 grams.
