made in 1954, Commercial French Model, drawn tone hole, .018” body, .016”
headjoint, solid silver, open hole, Y-arms, inline G, Bb shake, B-foot, gold springs, no adjusting screws, Straubinger pads, A=440 traditional
scale.
Powell #1339 is in very good
condition, pads are older but sealing well, smooth action, tight mechanism,
some tarnish, no dents, ready for performance. Our flute has a wonderful robust
old Powell sound with beautiful shades of colors, sweet singing middle
register, full bottom, and a silvery top. It vibrates nicely under the fingers.
Used Commercial old Powells are some of the best value, exclusive and well made
flutes available in today’s crowded, over-priced and confusing flute market. It
comes in its original slim case in good condition.
Maker’s marks are on all three joints, serial number on the body only.
