playing condition, some tarnish. The pads are older but seal well, and the
mechanism is in good condition. The flute is ready to play. The embouchure is
well cut and not overly large. This flute has a beautiful yet robust sound,
with a strong low register and a vibrant, resonant character. It is easy to
articulate quickly and cleanly, making it highly responsive and versatile. This
model was Lou Deveau's answer to the modern Cooper scale flutes being offered
by his competitors Brannen and Powell at the time. It comes in its original
case in fair condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only. Monogram on headjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.2 x 11.7 mm.
Sounding length is 632 mm.
