A Restorer's Special - No. 9 Headjoint
Wm. S. Haynes Flute serial #45001, made in 1979. Solid silver, handmade French model, soldered tone holes, open hole, pointed arms, no adjustment screws, inline G, B-foot, Bb shake, .012" tubing, forged keys and touches, gold springs, traditional scale.
Haynes #45001 is not in good playing condition due to old pads and missing some tail corks. The mechanism is solid and in good condition. There are a few minor dents. With finger pressure, the flute will play down to low C, but adjustments are off on several notes. The general impression is a sweet and colorful sound. It will be a fantastic flute once it's overhauled. It comes in the original case in good condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only. Monogram on headjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.2 x 12.1 mm.
Sounding length is 602 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-7/8”.
The flute weighs 394 grams.
