Wm. S. Haynes Flute serial
#41467, made in 1974. Solid silver, handmade French model, soldered tone holes,
open hole, pointed arms, no adjustment screws, inline G, B-foot with gizmo, Bb
shake, .013” tubing, forged keys and touches, gold springs, felt pads,
traditional scale, A=440.
This is a very fine example
of the Haynes flutes made during
the 1970’s, before the introduction of the Deveau scale. This flute is in good
condition, not too much wear on the pads, and they are covering well, low B
pops right out. For a B-foot flute, it is a very light instrument and it vibrates
in your hands. It has all the charms and sweetness that Haynes is famous for.
It comes in its original case in fair condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only. Monogram on headjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.16 x 12.09 mm.
Sounding length is 637 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-7/8”.
The flute weighs 424 grams.
