1970s Regular Model Haynes
Wm. S. Haynes Flute serial
#37984, made in 1970. Solid silver, Regular Model, Y-arms, drawn tone holes,
close hole, offset G, Bb shake, .018” body, .016" headjoint, forged keys
and touches, adjustment screws, gold springs, C-foot, felt pads, traditional
scale.
Haynes #37984 is in used
condition, pads are older and covering adequately for testing purpose.
Keys go up and down without any binding, some tarnish, no rust. An overhaul
would be needed for use in performances. The embouchure hole is nicely cut,
excellent size and shape. These Regular Haynes flutes are great workhorses for
gigging musicians. They have lovely tone qualities that are uniquely Haynes. It comes in its original case in good condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only.
The embouchure hole measures 10.1 x 12.3 mm.
Sounding length is 602 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-7/8”.
The flute weighs 449 grams.
