Handmade Haynes flute from
the Golden Age period is not a common sight in the market place. 1965 marks the
tail end of the Gold Age. Flutes made during this period were highly influenced
by the sound of Rampal’s gold Haynes. It is the American answer to French style
of flute playing - light, brilliant yet dark, quick articulations and above
all, a beautiful unforced tone.
#34368 is constructed with
standard .013” thin silver tubing. The flute feels very light and has the
beautiful sweet Haynes signature sound. The mechanism is in good condition, the
pads are more than adequate for casual playing and should be replaced for
professional use, the action is very good, some tarnish from normal use.
Original case in fair condition.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only. Monogram on headjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.3 x 12.3 mm.
Sounding length is 638 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-7/8”.
The flute weighs 414 grams.
