Wm. S. Haynes Flute serial
#33889, made in 1964. Solid silver, handmade French model, soldered tone holes,
open hole, pointed arms, no adjustment screws, inline G, B-foot, Bb shake,
.012” tubing, #9 headjoint taper, forged keys and touches, gold springs, felt
pads, traditional scale, A=440.
#33889 is in well played-in
condition. The pads are older but covering well, some tarnish, good mechanism.
The sound is gorgeous, every bit the best example of the golden age Haynes
flutes. The thin tubing vibrates under your fingers. This flute is a joy to
play. It comes in its original case in well-used condition
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only. Monogram on headjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.3 x 12.4 mm.
Sounding length is 637 mm.
Headjoint length is 9”.
The flute weighs 421 grams.
