This flute is an outstanding example of the golden age period handmade flutes produced by the Wm. S. Haynes Company. #26222 was overhauled not too long ago as evidenced by the newer pads and a tight mechanism. It is in excellent playing and cosmetic condition. It has the signature Haynes sound - sweet and powerful - with a fast response across all registers. The action is light and smooth. The flute vibrates strongly in the low register, the high register is free and without tightness, the middle is just beautiful beyond comparison. Well-preserved handmade Haynes flutes from the golden age period are rare, especially one with such a gorgeous tone and in like-new condition. It comes in a B-foot French case in fair condition.
