Handmade Plateau w/ C# Trill
Wm. S. Haynes Flute serial
#19488 made in 1948. Solid silver, Handmade Model, soldered tone holes, plateau
cups, pointed arms, .013”, C# trill, no adjustment screws, offset G, C-foot, Bb
shake, forged keys and touches, gold springs, Straubinger pads, traditional
scale.
Haynes #19488 is in good
condition, pads are sealing well. Even with the Strabinger pads, the flute still
maintains the sweet sound of a vintage Haynes flute. The mechanism has been
sorted out when the flute was converted from felt to Straubinger pads. It is ready to play. The flute has
been well cared for and it's very clean. The sound is vibrant and the response
is fast. The original case is in fair condition, except the leather hinge is
about to break.
Maker’s mark and serial number on body only. Monogram on headjoint.
The embouchure hole measures 10.3 x 12.0 mm.
Sounding length is 596 mm.
Headjoint length is 8-3/4”.
The flute weighs 430 grams.
