Louis Lot #3105, made in 1883, was probably the last conical ring keyed flute Villette produced before his long and successful tenure at Louis Lot came to a close. Grenadilla wood body, silver plated ring keys to low C, pointed arms, double thumb tone holes, no shake, seamed rings and mechanism tubings, blue steel springs, closed G#, cork joints, original embouchure, two end caps.
This flute is extremely well preserved, the wood is in fine condition and the tone hole seats all have good definitions. There is an old crack repair on the headjoint, the work is virtually invisible. The key work and pads are in exact adjustments. There is hardly any plating wear other than in some inconspicuous places and certain high points. The gold crayon highlighting the logos are still visible. Lot #3105 is a very fine playing flute with general pitch area around A=438 to 440. The sound is warm and intimate, three even registers: the low notes are unusually strong and responsive, the middle register is just lovely and the higher octave notes are brilliant. This flute is set up properly, ready for performance. It comes in the original case in well used condition, leather hinge has separated.
Maker’s mark on the headjoint, footjoint and the body. Serial number on body only.
