This flute is a very good example of the golden age period handmade flutes from the Wm. S. Haynes Company. It is in excellent condition, recent overhaul with Straubinger pads. It is light as a feather and feels balanced in the hands. The sound is sweet, yet powerful and full of character, fast response in all registers, the action is even and smooth. #30861 vibrates strongly in the hands, a sign of a very good headjoint and good padding. Flute comes in its original case in excellent condition. Handmade Haynes flutes from the Golden Age period seldom surface in the market place.
