Bonneville #3567, from the early 20th century, French model open hole, C foot, silver-plated, steel springs, Bb shake, tear trop D# key, all original, plating is quite good with only very minor plating wear found here and there and an oval spot on the bottom side of the tubing where the right thumb makes contact with the flute, common for flutes of this age. The embouchure hole is well shaped and original, on the small side, headjoint is shortened a bit, perhaps 2 mm. Sound is the typical dark tonality of the Bonneville, more so than similar period plated Louis Lot flutes. It has older pads in fair condition and could use a refreshing to bring out the full potential of this beauty. The mechanism is free and working properly. Scale is A=438 but plays well to 440. Case is French of the period. We offer this Bonneville flute for $2,750, very reasonable for a high quality vintage French flute.
Maker’s marks are on both the headjoint and the body, serial number on the body only. Engraving is very crisp.
MARK: AB (monogram)/Ate/BONNEVILLE/Paris (gothic).
